The Church Leadership Committee helps congregations in the NH/VT District to develop lay leadership in most areas of congregational life, including finance and fundraising, boards, committees, the nurture of volunteers, membership, worship, and outreach. The Committee offers:
- Workshops on such topics as: growth and vitality in small congregations, Covenant Groups/Small Group Ministry, and responsible stewardship, to name a few recent and upcoming themes;
- Consultants to lead board retreats, canvass trainings, small group ministry start-ups, and other leadership training within congregations;
- Scholarships to attend the Northeast Leadership School (see www.uua.org/nels/) and other church leadership programs;
- A lending library of congregational leadership books. The library is housed at the District office. There is no fee for borrowing the materials. You will have to pay return postage when you send an item back. To borrow a book, contact the District office. For a list of books in the library, see the library catalog.
If you have suggestions or questions, would like to apply for a NELS scholarship, or would like help on any issue of congregational organization and leadership, please contact the committee chair, Lori Fortini. |
